OUR TEAM

Scott McKnight

Scott McKnight is a Baton Rouge–based business leader and former Louisiana legislator with nearly three decades of experience working at the intersection of business, government, and community service. He is known for a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and a reputation built on trust, relationships, and results. 


Scott began his career at Wright & Percy Insurance and later held senior leadership roles following the firm’s transition into Gallagher, where he advised major clients and developed deep expertise in risk management, regulatory engagement, and strategic planning. 


He represented District 68 in the Louisiana House of Representatives, serving on the Commerce; Natural Resources and Environment; Administration of Criminal Justice; and Municipal, Parochial, and Cultural Affairs Committees, and was recognized for his ability to work across the aisle and bring stakeholders together. 


Scott is actively involved in the Baton Rouge community, with service including ABC (Association of Builders and Contractors), Companion Animal Alliance, Manship Theatre, LSU Museum of Art, the Better Business Bureau, and Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. 



After 27 years in the Insurance Industry, he launched MCK Group, a consulting and government relations firm providing strategic advisory and advocacy services to clients across Louisiana and beyond. 

Austin Lewis

Before joining MCK Group, Austin served as Policy Advisor to Governor Jeff Landry. In this pivotal role, Austin specializes in a variety of policy areas at the state level, offering expert guidance to the Governor on pivotal issues facing the State of Louisiana. Austin was tasked to spearhead major government reform, including helping pass the “One Door to Work Act” which completely overhauled the social service system in Louisiana. 


Austin’s career in government commenced with the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), the state chamber of commerce, where he undertook a variety of responsibilities. Overseeing membership operations, representing LABI’s Political Action Committees (PAC’s), and orchestrating fundraising campaigns to bolster pro-business candidates just to name a few.  His concerted efforts were instrumental in facilitating the election of Louisiana’s most pro-business legislature in the state’s history. 


Austin has also served as campaign manager for a statewide election for the office of State Treasurer, showcasing his strategic prowess in political campaign management. 


Austin’s a Baton Rouge native receiving his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University (LSU).
